Nelson Mandela tribute

Anti Apartheid Revolutionary and former South African President Nelson Mandela passed away today after a long fight with Respiratory illness.

I doubt I'm old enough to truly appreciate the way he changed things, as I came into the world probably on the tail end on the very thing he was fighting against, the first South Africa General Election held since Apartheid ended happened when I was 10 years old, I might have been old enough to vaguely grasp the significance, but I probably didn't pay much attention >_>

At the same time though, I can't help but be grateful that I can't appreciate this, because it means I didn't have to experience the full scope of the shame others like me felt, even if I do get it to a degree over the fact that it happened in the first place.

Even though I don't know the entirety of the significance and can't 100% appreciate it, one thing I do know is that the world would be a totally different place if this hadn't happened(some things might be better, but more than a few things would be worse, I'm sure of that), so I still say, thanks for everything, and Rest in Peace.
